The Serbian dinar and the euro are a pair watched by travelers, those working in Serbia, and anyone transferring money between Serbia and eurozone countries. The dinar trades in a managed float regime; the euro serves as an important reference for the Serbian economy, but the rate is not fixed and can change. The converter below shows the current EUR/RSD rate. For exchanging large amounts - submit a request through ATM24.

Serbian dinar: a managed rate with a euro reference

The Serbian dinar (RSD) is the national currency of the Republic of Serbia, issued by the National Bank of Serbia. One dinar is divided into 100 para. The dinar's rate is managed-float: it is formed by market supply and demand, while the National Bank of Serbia conducts interventions to smooth short-term volatility. The euro is an important reference for the Serbian economy, as the EU is the country's largest trading partner; however, there is no fixed peg, and in the long term the dinar has historically weakened. Serbia is a candidate for EU membership, setting the country's monetary direction for years ahead.

Euro: the world's second reserve currency

The euro (EUR) is the single currency of the eurozone, uniting 20 EU member states. The issuer is the European Central Bank (ECB). One euro equals 100 cents. Introduced into non-cash circulation in 1999, into cash circulation in 2002. The euro is the world's second largest reserve currency after the US dollar. The ECB's key rate policy, inflation in the eurozone, and the geopolitical situation in Europe are the main factors driving the single currency.

Why the RSD/EUR pair remains stable

Serbia's monetary policy orientation toward the euro is the main reason the dinar is less prone to sharp fluctuations compared to other Balkan currencies. The National Bank of Serbia smooths peak rate movements through interventions. The NBS maintains a managed float regime and can smooth excessive short-term volatility. For tourists and those transferring money to Serbia, this means a relatively predictable exchange environment.

Exchanging dinars for euros through ATM24

ATM24 handles the RSD/EUR pair via requests in WhatsApp or Telegram. The preliminary rate and conditions are confirmed by the manager before payment, after verifying the amount, payment method, direction availability, and applicable KYC/AML, sanctions, and jurisdictional restrictions. For regular dinar exchange - for example, if you receive a salary in Serbia and want to transfer to euros - it is convenient to work with a dedicated ATM24 manager. For non-standard or large volumes, it is recommended to clarify conditions in advance.

Initially I found the service in Google search through an ad banner. I went to read reviews on Yandex and Google, saw that on the maps there is only 1 point in Phuket and it's some kind of ATM. And the reviews are all 5 stars. There are photos, instructions, a website and everything seems to look nice, but it seems that making a website isn’t that hard, reviews can be bought along with photos. I decided to check it myself anyway (because I needed baht and the only thing to exchange was rubles on a card from a Russian bank). I checked, exchanged 5000 baht and everything works smoothly, maybe I'll use them again during my trip, since this time was a test for me. Special thanks to manager Stanislav for the help (I learned the manager’s name in the messenger after the exchange was completed). Upd: exchanged a second time for a larger amount, everything also went smoothly and at a rate not very different from the bank rate.

I want to thank manager Alisa for quickly resolving the issue. We needed cash in Thailand, but the problem was that the money for exchange was on our card. She explained everything, told us, sent the location where it could be collected. More than satisfied with the service. Thanks again.
